This month at Peak: October 2021

By Will Lord on October 29, 2021

It's almost time! AltitudeX is on our doorstep and the last few weeks at Peak have been as busy as ever.

Take a look at this month’s news and check out the build-up to Manchester’s biggest tech event of the year!

AltitudeX is here! ?

? The big day is nearly upon us! Next week, on Thursday 4 November, we’re taking over the iconic Depot Mayfield in Manchester for the launch of AltitudeX. Our inaugural open summit will feature a star-studded line-up of guest speakers, including Cambridge Analytica whistleblower Christopher Wylie, best-selling author Matthew Syed and former BBC One Controller Lorraine Heggessey. Throw into the mix some technical workshops, networking and wellness activities, exciting Peak news and fantastic food and drink, and it’s shaping up to be an event like no other. So, all you decision makers, engineers, data scientists – let’s talk AI. ?

? Ready for some more cool news? AWS AND Intel are officially proud sponsors of AltitudeX! We’re also very, very excited to be welcoming AWS’s Dimitri French, Principal, AI&ML, to Manchester as one of our speakers – he’ll be chatting to Intel’s Vladimir Brenner about ‘a single source of truth: lakes, ponds, warehouses and removing silos of data.’ ?

Earlier in the month we wrote five brilliant blogs for our own Women in Data Science Week, championing the role of women in the sector, and the steps we can all take to help build gender-diverse teams. Then, a few days later, we celebrated Ada Lovelace Day. Ada was a renowned mathematician, the first computer programmer and the inspiration behind our Ada Lovelace meeting room at Peak HQ! Whether we were in Manchester, Jaipur or working from home, we all got behind this important message ? Donate here.
